NIM | Natural Intelligent Movement
Natural movement meets anatomical knowledge
NIM is a holistic bodyweight training method that blends natural movement with optimal posture and body awareness.
The “N” in NIM stands for “Natural“, encompassing a full range of movements—from early childhood development to bipedal locomotion, beginning from the first lying positions. The NIM concept focuses on relearning and reclaiming the body’s full movement potential. By restoring these natural patterns, NIM enhances mobility, agility, and freedom of movement—both in daily life and across all sports.
The “I” in NIM stands for “Intelligent,” incorporating three movement principles based on Pilates, Spiral Dynamics®, and fascia science that work together in perfect synergy: The first principle is “Alignment“, focusing on structural positioning based on the body’s anatomical blueprint. The second is “Breathing“, and the third is “Core“, which relates to body tension and controlled stability. These principles form the foundation of “Finest Bodywork”, supporting systematic posture correction in a way that is logical, simple, and effective.
“M“ stands for Movement. All movements already exist and don’t need to be reinvented, but NIM aims to perform them in the optimal flow so that they bring the greatest possible benefit and maximum training efficiency. The core of NIM training is the “sitting down and getting back up” – with NIM, anyone can manage this according to their capabilities, offering not only more fitness but also individualized fall prevention.
The NIM modular system includes 29 basic exercises for athletic beginners, young mothers in postnatal training, seniors, and rehabilitation athletes, as well as 26 advanced exercises for fit athletes and fit individuals. NIM strikes a balance for a broad audience, combining functional training with integrated body and mind conditioning.
The strategic sequencing of exercises, combined with fluid transitions, makes NIM adaptable to any training goal and skill level. This method enhances body awareness, accelerates progress, and delivers lasting results. Beyond building physical strength, NIM fosters pain-free mobility and supports long-term health. A practice to take pride in, enjoy, and appreciate for the freedom and well-being it brings.
“I am convinced that the ability to sit down and stand up from a deep squat with controlled pelvic rotation, just like we all did as young children, is our greatest movement treasure. The loss of this ability over the course of our lives already creates a condition for postural problems, pain, and movement limitations.”

NIM and Early Childhood Motor Development
When we look back at our human origins, we must critically ask ourselves what remains of our physical abilities. As toddlers, we crawl on the floor before we learn to crawl. Before we learn to walk, we pull ourselves up on solid objects. Anyone who observes small children in their tireless eagerness to develop into an upright walking human will be fascinated by their incredible range of movements. It is striking that sitting down on the floor and standing up again plays a key role in their movement behavior. The primary goal of NIM training is to preserve or, if possible, regain these diverse movement abilities.
As we go through our (work) lives, we often develop compensatory patterns (e.g., raised shoulders, clenched gluteal muscles, rounded back, tilted pelvis…), we must relearn the correct alignment and positioning of our body in basic positions. This helps free us from our structural constraints, leading to pain-free movement and greater joy in movement.

Bodyweight Training in Flow with Precision
Currently, 55 NIM Basic and Advanced exercises offer a varied bodyweight training flow with a high focus on movement quality. They accommodate all training levels and needs, offering variations and smooth transitions that create dynamic, ever-changing exercise sequences.
Detailed instructions provide clear guidance, making it easy to learn and refine these restorative postures for optimal movement and alignment.
Through this dynamic training flow, all joints move through their full functional range, while breathing, core muscles, and the pelvic floor work together to provide stability and efficiency. This integrated approach supports fluid movement and helps develop a natural training rhythm. NIM promotes spinal alignment and optimal posture, strengthening endurance, flexibility, and coordination. The goal is to cultivate a body that feels energized, strong, elastic, and resilient, regardless of your starting point.
